Train birthday cake drawing in header above by my talented friend.
Today, September 24, 2012, marks the two year anniversary of this blog. It all started with the Spuyten Duyvil train station on September 24, 2010, and ever since I’ve been hooked on going on excursions, photographing, writing, and sharing them with you.
In celebration, I’ve given my dear blog several gifts.
First, as you may have noticed, she’s now got her own domain name, infrastructureemily.com. It was time for her to have this independence, and though I worried that this new name was too narcissistic, it was the only thing that seemed appropriate. Note that if you have older posts bookmarked those links will still work.
I’ve also set up a URL shortener, infraem.com, that I will be using to share short links to blog posts on social networks and elsewhere. Each post’s page will soon list its own short URL in case you want to use them as well.
A few days ago I launched the upcoming posts page, which lists excursions I’ve been on and sites I’ve visited but have not yet gotten a chance to write about. I hope to one day catch up and write about all of them.
A little while ago, I decided to eliminate the loading/transition time between large images in the “lightbox” popup. While this makes the transition a little less smooth, I hope it will be a welcome change to be able to view the images more quickly. What do you think about this change?
What do you think about the removal of the image transitions?
